On the shores of the Moray Firth, where beautiful beaches meet the open ocean, Nairn sits just a short distance from Inverness. There’s something faintly ghostly about the place — calm, atmospheric, and almost cinematic.
When entering a house or a place for the first time you often sense the atmosphere immediately.
Personally I connect that feeling with a film or relate it to music.
This Georgian Mansion built in 1825 with its Regency Architecture feels like stepping into an historic & elegant love story in the Scottish Highland.
But also the feeling of something abandoned & lonely is present.
The movie, The Brutalist, brings reflections that connect to this house & its surroundings. The height of the ceiling, the scenic dining room, the entrance with its magnitude & the grand romantic garden.
As the peacefulness, the remoteness & the historical & elegant solitude made this location a rewarding spot for photographic work & mindfulness.
