You don’t have to travel far, but bring your camera and the experience will be even more adventurous.
Three hours drive and you’re in the land of lakes, Värmland, Sweden.
The simplicity of its landscape & its historical roots of poorness have led to so many world recognized creative souls.
Selma Lagerløf (1858-1940 ) was the first woman to win the Nobel Prize in literature, and her home “Mårbacka Manor” is one of my favorite places to visit.
Gøran Tunstrøm (1937-2000) and his masterpiece «Juleoratoriet” is the most beautiful book to read, also from Sunne, Värmland and an award winning author with a love for his birthplace.
Today Värmland still is a very much alive scenery for artists.
The stillnesss & the open landscape of forests, lakes and rivers with a mildness & a sense of loneliness and isolation makes the region fairytale like.
With the darkness in November daylight is precious and this time the light again puts the premises for the images.
